WHY SOMEONE SHOULD CHOOSE CYPRUS FOR THEIR VACATION
Cyprus is famous worldwide for its stunning beaches with crystal-clear waters, especially in Protaras. The European Environmental Agency recognizes Cyprus' beaches as the best in Europe. The island boasts over 40 Blue Flag awarded beaches, attracting millions of visitors every year.
This little gem, the Mediterranean island, will make you fall in love with its natural beauty, history, and welcoming inhabitants. Vacations in Cyprus have nothing to envy from any cosmopolitan destination.
The uniquely beautiful beaches with their crystal-clear, turquoise waters, delicious food, and welcoming locals generously offer visitors a plethora of reasons to choose this timeless and secure destination that combines it all. If you're simply looking for moments of relaxation, you're in the right place. If you want to explore caves, nature trails, museums, once again, you're in the right place. For those who enjoy jogging or walking, the coastal promenade, spanning over 4 kilometers, offers incredible views of the sunset over the azure waters. You should know that in the area, there are three spots with free exercise equipment for all visitors, located at Fig Tree Bay, Vrysi Beach, and Polyxenia. If you're a fan of water sports, everything from adrenaline to diving is available.
It's worth noting that on the beaches of Protaras, you often come across turtles enjoying their walks in the clear waters of the area, but please be aware that FEEDING THEM IS PROHIBITED. If you want to take a boat ride, we highly recommend it, but be cautious around the turtles, as sometimes in their efforts to feed them, tourists have inadvertently caused fatal injuries to the turtles.
A stroll to the chapel of Prophet Elias on the high hill of Protaras offers magical views and memories. Meanwhile, the chapel of Saint Nicholas is so picturesque and beautiful, situated in the sea in the Pernera area, resembling a painting.
Cyprus has countless attractions that even your imagination can't match. If you have time, there are numerous options for excursions. You could visit Limassol, Paphos, Larnaca, and Nicosia, or explore beautiful mountain villages such as Omodos, Platres, and Troodos.
Cyprus has it all, and considering that you can cross the entire island in just 2 hours, you can see it all! You could travel to Paphos to visit the Medieval Castle or the Tombs of the Kings, a vast underground burial site for high-ranking officials with elaborately carved solid rock. There's also the Rock of Aphrodite, the Baths of Aphrodite, and much more.
Limassol has transformed into a little Dubai with incredible beauty and the largest casino. It's also home to Ancient Kourion and the Limassol Marina. A visit to the Phinikoudes area in Larnaca will leave you amazed. The Calidonia Waterfalls in Platres will leave you speechless no matter how many times you visit.
If you visit Nicosia, it's essential to know that it is the only divided capital of Europe. At the end of Ledra Street is the checkpoint leading to the occupied Nicosia. Along the Green Line, there are guard posts and wire fences with United Nations soldiers reminding us that Nicosia, the capital of Cyprus in 2023, is STILL DIVIDED, and Cypriots need to show their passports to cross to the other side.
Furthermore, with over 500 churches, monasteries, and chapels, some dating back to 329 BC, religion has been and continues to be deeply rooted in the local culture. Surrounded geographically by Europe, Asia, and Africa, you can imagine the incredible influences this had on the architectural character of various structures.
